This baffles me as well. Guys like YF and Sunshine seem constantly, and at times damn near hysterically, concerned about our muslim menace. But I've not seen either of them say precisely what we should do about it. Are there any specific policy measures they've advocated? Or is it just ranting and raving purely for the heck of it?

Yes. Which is why they don't take questions. Hot take city.

YF, I'm a little confused here. Isn't it your position that socially liberal Muslims who believe in a separation of church and state (like Fatah) don't exist? Or that they aren't really Muslims?

Should Fatah be allowed past US Customs when he wants to come down for a book signing at a Detroit Barnes & Noble? Did you know he's ok with the Koran?

YF has been very clear about this. He believes that Obama needs to say "radical Islamic terrorism," and, also, that the government should wage a fairly aggressive public relations campaign alerting people that Muslims are not assimilating.

The first step would be the leader of the free world admitting there is a problem.

Once you get past the entrenched PC obstruction, you could perhaps find some solutions.

I'd start with figuring out how to get law enforcement to work together to identify, track and neutralize suspects. Lost in the typical "debate" over the latest terrorist attack is that law enforcement was once again left holding its collective dick in its hand.

I'm not wondering about his motivation at all.

I'm awaiting the investigation to be completed before declaring what it was.

Was that your position when some folks decided to illegally camp at a bird sanctuary?

I'm just the messenger. Look at the post after yours. Obama is too politically correct and does not admit there is a problem.

Apples and oranges there given the Bundy crew gave dozens of media interviews and hundreds of social media posts that said "Here is why we are doing this ... "

They didn't just yell "I love Cliven Bundy!"

The leader of the free world spends more time every day actually doing work to find solutions to the threat of terrorism than all the folks crying about "entrenched PC obstruction" combined. In fact, not declaring war on Islam, and instead focusing his rhetoric on combatting specific enemies such as Al-Qaeda and ISIL is a very deliberate way of combatting these lunatics, in addition the many military and law enforcement operations carried out under this (and previous) administrations.

You'll recall that even George W. Bush decided not to label an entire religion as our enemy - "Americans understand we fight not a religion. Ours is not a campaign against the Muslim faith. Ours is a campaign against evil." But I guess he was just another PC pansy, right?

Did you blame law enforcement when Oklahoma City went down? Sandy Hook? DC Sniper? Manson?

How are those problems any different? Here's a hint, each one of those, including Orlando, involved a US citizen who was entitled to innocent until proven guilty presumption, which means exercising all constitutional rights, including 2nd amendment rights to buy firearms.

No fly lists? Essentially no-weapon lists? When someone is not convicted, not guilty of one felony? That's not America.

Discriminate against people who believe in Islam? Because they read the Koran instead of the Bible? That's a blatant violation of the First Amendment. Reminder, why did the settlers come to America? Because they were persecuted for their religious beliefs. How is that any different than Muslims coming to the US? Oh yeah, those persecuted then.....forcibly undertook an armed revolution against the established government.

Our Founding Fathers acknowledged their prior acts and the reason for the establishment of the United States of America and said we will be a land of the free, free from governmental control of free speech, free from religious control, because they said the allure of enjoying such freedoms will outweigh whatever propoganda some citizen may read.

Why is Mr. Mateen any different than if my neighbor decides to walk down the street and fire an automatic weapon in our city center? Because he read a book? IMHO, I'm no ready to give up my freedom.

That's exactly the risk that we have as a land of freedom of religion for all, not just the ones we like.
