Arrieta's control is a bit of a concern. He is out of whatever god mode trance he was in for about half of a season. But that was never going to last forever, and the Cubs are still 9.5 up in the division after being swept by the Cardinals.

His mechanics are extremely hard to maintain and repeat. They require insane core strength and athleticism to not fly open and leave the ball up. I wouldn't be surprised if he loses it pretty badly in his early 30s.

They are probably going to lose in the playoffs, because 90% of playoff appearances end that way. When that happens, it won't be because he pitched half an inning per start less than Sale.

Fuck you. In his last six starts, he has gone five innings twice, including today's gem, and six innings another time.

Really anybody but St. Louis is fine.

Bernie Mikalsz (sp?) said on the radio it is because of the "psychology" of wild card teams.

Why should anyone care what he thinks?

They're loose and have no pressure on them. Sheesh, I thought you knew something about sports.

It's called a slump. Please see the lesson I learned in 1990 above. At this rate, I'm going to have to start charging you for all this free tutoring.

Now please tell us why you are leaning so heavily on the crutch of lame insults in this discussion. Despite the fact that you are mucking up this thread with your trolling and posting nasty things about me, I am remaining relatively civil. Why is it so difficult for you to do the same? I have a theory, but I thought I should ask you the question first.

Was that the last time you learned something?

I learned you know nothing about sports a few years back, so there was that.

Indeed, it is. I'm not sure what you're arguing against if you admit that.
