I have a lot of admiration for Rep. Lewis. Anybody who went through what he did and kept on fighting all the time has my undying respect.

He's still wrong on this issue, though.

If crawling out of the woodwork means taking on a persona similar to yours, I'm quite sure I'll pass.

I don't think he's wrong. The gun bills at hand are crap but the Drms want the GOP on the record.

Maybe by some miracle there will be enough pressure to hammer out a bill that prohibits the sale of assault rifles to everyone.

No fan of due process either?

Leave it to the Dems to pull a stunt for legislation designed to strip citizens of one fundamental right so they can't exercise another.

Unique approach to terrorism. I bet the Dems are kicking themselves that they didn't try a similar approach to introduce legislation aimed at preventing the pursuit of happiness after 9/11.

You don't have the fundamental right to own a machine gun. Stop being so dramatic, Melanoma.

Congress already tried preventing the pursuit of happiness, but Prohibition didn't take.

You're supporting the Democrats' teenage slumber party and I'm the dramatic one. Do you think the legislation is only designed to keep people on the list from buying "machine guns"? Which guns would they be allowed to purchase under this legislation?

I can't believe how much bias you reveal in your posts.

The specific legislation isn't the point, as you know. It would never pass the Senate. But I applaud the Dems for forcing the issue.

Ideally, some bill will be passed that may keep some nut from acting out his first-person shooter fantasy.

Really? Well then to to Barr my soul, I kind of like OOP's tirades.

Again, unique approach to fighting terrorism. Pandering nonsense that postage stamps like yourself eat up.
