I mean, his entire campaign is just the world's yuuuuugest, most elaborate troll job ever, right? I paid attention to the Brexit thing for five minutes and knew how Scotland voted. There's just no way he didn't know or have people telling him. I'm pretty convinced all he wants to do is fuck with people.

 

Honestly, even as a troll job (and I say this even as someone who loves golf), the fact that reporters were like "Wow, what do you think about Brexit?" and his response was to ramble on about how great this could be for Turnberry was pretty stunning. He talked about the Turnberry resign for like 15 minutes.

 

Isn't that why he was there?

 

Are you kidding me? You're vying to be the leader of the free world and the markets are in turmoil and your response is "Well, I did have a prior commitment to talk about the Turnberry redesign and how much Tom Watson likes it, so I'll limit my remarks to that."

Alas, Lewandowski has a confidentiality, indeed, a no-criticism, clause in his severance contract, so CNN is buying nothing but the same canned spiel. There's a conspiracy theory that says Lewandowski got canned for just this purpose, to emerge as a spokesperson getting paid by someone other than Trump.

 

He's probably given them enough *stuff* behind the scenes, that they can then somehow spin themselves, and then he can comment on it.
