Cruz is a real outsider. Degrees from Princeton and Harvard, worked for the Bush campaign, stints in the Justice Department and the FTC, and served as solicitor general of Texas.

Really bucked the establishment throughout his career.

How do Cruz' policies differ from Cliven Bundy and the John Birch Society

He's gone against the establishment every step since he got into the Senate. It's why, as your side keeps pointing out, he's hated by all the establishment. in the Senate. You can't have it both ways. If he was "establishment" he wouldn't be hated by the likes of McConnell and Co.

The stuff about being personally chosen by The Lord, for starters.

Cruz is a dick. That's why his colleagues dislike him. Rand Paul seems to get along with more people. Even Mike Lee gets more lunch and dinner invites.

As for my side, which side is that?

The side that keeps insisting he's hated, yet insists he's "establishment."

It takes some analysis that is beyond your skill-set.

Sure, but he's universally despised on a personal level (Republicans, Democrats, politicians, voters, his kids, etc.), so that makes him an outsider.

I guess. His policies aren't that much out of step with the "establishment." He's just universally disliked. Republicans in Congress do not hate him because of his policy positions.
