Guardian's guy has been brutal, saying, "England are embarrassing themselves." He also said at HT that England has two keepers he'd rather see in the game over Joe Hart.

And done. Super cool for Iceland but what a disaster for England.

His contract expired when England was done. No need to fire him.

Anyone who couldn't enjoy Iceland, especially that post-game celebration, is really missing the point of watching sports.

England's theme song is The Who's "Can't Explain." Can someone explain -- or link to some resource that can -- why the home of (at worst) the third-best pro league in the world is such a crashing dissappointment at this level of soccer?

When it comes to beating Dennmark (World Cup 2002 Round of 16) and Ecuador (World Cup 2006 Round of 16), the tabloids really don't give a fuck. Other than those two times, you put them in a knockout game, they're burnt toast.

WC 1998: Second round loss to Argentina
Euro 2000: Didn't survive group play
Euro 2004: Second-round loss to Portugal
    Euro 2008: Didn't qualify
WC 2010: Second-round loss to Germany
Euro 2012: Second-round loss to Italy
WC 2014: Didn't survive group play
