And the previous year, the Astros (and everyone else) had Byron Buxton rated ahead of Carlos Correa, but took Correa at No. 1 because he would sign for well under slot and allow them to overpay for Lance McCullers in the supplemental round. That worked out OK, too.

Boy, the few times the Rangers happen to lose lately, they do so in spectacular, crotch-kick fashion.

    To
To be fair, they've been winning that way in this series. Some interesting games.

    Interesting.

Rick Rhoden DH'd a time or two for the Yankees in the late-80s, but it might not have been on a day he was pitching.

    No DH needed. Bumgarner doubles.

In related news, Kruk and Kuip said the Players Association was objecting to Bumgarner going to the Home Run Derby because it would take a spot from a hitter.

Giants score 12 runs tonight. So much for all the worry about batting Bumgarner.

Even if they were shutout, I'm not sure I'd have second guessed Bochy. Bum goes deep into games and is a power threat. Heard Brandon Tierney go off about how horrible it was to bat him because what if Bumgarner got hurt running the bases. So batting him in an AL park is too big of a risk, what about the other 29 games Bumgarner starts?

So glad the Giants scored enough to make this all meaningless.

He's a career 182 hitter, batting .175 this year. Yes, it's brilliance to have him hit.
