Was there gross negligence? Yes? Guilty.

While the left is celebrating this as its red-letter day, there is months and months of material here for Trump to exploit.

The appeal of Trump and the appeal of Bernie was that they were outsiders. Hillary has just benefited from the ultimate insider treatment. Trump can base his campaign for the rest of these four months on that simple fact.

You're ignoring that gross negligence is much more difficult to prove than simply showing that the act occurred, which is strict liability.

There are different intent requirements for different statutes. You don't have to intend to speed. You don't have to intend to commit statutory rape. You have to intend to commit first-degree murder. Etc.

Im not a Hillary fan. I've never tried to pretend otherwise. When I look at her career, I see a pattern of questionable decisions and situations that would make people reject 99.9 percent of presidential candidates. She, however, seems to get a pass -- not only a pass, but a credibility boost -- because of her last name and gender.
I understand the rationale that people will vote for Clinton over Trump because they view her as the lesser of two evils. What I don't understand is the people who ignore her past and support her like she's the second coming of George Washington, when in fact she's more like a female Nixon.

Which her actions in this case would need to be interpreted as such, since there isn't anything in the law saying that having government documents on a private server is gross negligence.

Which is much different that your example of speeding tickets. There's no interpretation needed. Was the car going faster than the speed limit? Yes or no. Was the person who was ticketed the person driving the car that was going faster than the speed limit? Yes or no. There's no interpretation of the law needed. It's right there in the law. The driver cannot go more than X miles an hour on that specific stretch of road.

Not in this case. It's the textbook definition of gross negligence.
