Yep. And Comey brought him back to Earth and made him look like an idiot.

And Rep. Thomas Massie just tried tying this into criminally negligent homicide.

Ladies and gentlemen, your 2016 Republican Party!

Transparency is a wonderful thing, and we should do everything in our power to enable it. Unless, that is, we think it might be inconvenient. Then we should be free to do everything in our power to prevent it. #po-mos

“Secretary Clinton said there was nothing marked classified,”

Mr. Comey said that description was “not true.”

"Mrs. Clinton said there was no classified material on her servers."

“There was classified email,” Mr. Comey said.

"Mrs. Clinton claimed that she turned over all work-related emails."

“We found work-related emails, thousands, that were not returned,” Mr. Comey said.

Perhaps the most damaging nugget from Comey:

Comey also said if an FBI agent were found to have been careless with classified information, that could result in a loss of security clearance, suspension or even termination.

“It would be a very important consideration in a suitability determination,” Comey said.

Faint as your praise is for Trump, you still are painting the most hopeful picture possible. It's kind of touching.

She is a deeply flawed candidate. And by far the better choice.

Al Gore would be a much better choice if you are looking for an IT expert

When one of the congressmen pressed him on that and said there was a double standard because Hillary will face no consequences, Comey replied that the same thing would happen (under the same set of facts) if this had been one his employees who was no longer working at the FBI -- the former employee would not be prosecuted and would be beyond the reach of work-related disciplinary action.

The obvious follow-up question to that (and it might have been asked -- I didn't hear the entire hearing) should have been: Would you re-hire that former employee or recommend him to be hired for another position that required security clearance or handling classified information?

When Clinton's elected, you can deny her security clearance if you want.

That doesn't answer the follow-up question.
