Husband's coat tails. Daddy's coat tails (Bush43, John Quincy Adams). Granddaddy's coat tails (Benjamin Harrison). Cousin's coat tails (Zachary Taylor and James Madison). Heck, FDR was related to 11 ---- count 'em, 11! --- presidents, five by blood and six by marriage.

Yeah, Hillary is soooooo different.

Aside from from the man crush on Saddam and the whole Star of David thing, I find the lack of grasp on what's in the Constitution most disturbing.

Except that she would never have had a political career.

How do you get her to the Senate without first marrying Bill?

Same way pretty much all of them get there. Prestigious lawyer to state-level political job to Senate.

I had an assignment a few years ago that led me to take the Metro to Petworth and then walk to a high school a mile or so away. It's seeing some gentrification now, but this isn't an area the tour group from Cedar Rapids makes sure to hit. Still, it didn't seem unsafe in the afternoon.

    Oh @HanSenSE.

I have a feeling the surface has only been grazed on that front.

Trump will make Palin seem like a Constitutional scholar.

And I say that mainly because of his promise to "get ____ law out of there" or "stopping ____" or "hiring veterans to be TSAs" and on and on and on.

He hasn't the slightest clue about the practical, moral or legal purview of the office of the President of the United States.

A Wellesley grad - first student speaker at commencement in the school's history, at that.
    Yale Law School grad
Worked on a Senate campaign and McGovern's POTUS campaign
Worked for House Committee investigating Watergate
    Worked for Children's Defense Fund

Man, if she hadn't married Bill, Hillary would have been doing personal-injury accident cases instead of entering politics.

Even if she pursued a political career in this way, she's a million-to-one shot.

To pretend she didn't get a huge boost from her marriage to Bill is just silly.

We're talking about a woman who ran for office in a state she didn't reside, and had the entire party establishment, including the retiring Senator, behind her from day one.

    She faced token primary opposition.

Her fame, and connections -- and a desire to pay her back for standing by Bill when the Party needed her to -- propelled her career in a way that could never have happened otherwise.

Not to mention, she's lousy at campaigning.

Yep. She wasn't clearly laying the groundwork for an important political career or anything...

    Failed NYS Bar Exam
    Was fired from Watergate Committee
Children's Defense Fund is a stepping stone to high political office?

    You guys are funny.

She's not a natural politician. She says that. She's awkward and uncomfortable campaigning.

Even if you think she's great in office, she's not very good at seeking it.

To pretend that Bill held her back? That's just crazy.
