charges, he still would have been called before Congress which would have had the same effect as the presser.

 

To a certain extent. But Comey provided an outline for the hearing during his press conference, opening himself up to additional second guessing.

Plus, I think people view a press conference from the FBI director as non-partisan whereas they view Congressional hearings, especially House GOP-led hearings, as a joke and don't pay much attention.

Moreover, Trump gets a Mostly False or worse rating on 78(!) percent of the comments reviewed. The Mostly False or worse tally for the nominees? The Donald 123 of 158. HRC 32 of 120, with 53 percent in at True or Mostly True. But SHE is not to be trusted.
