Donald Trump managed to pick a better VP candidate than the last two GOP nominees.

Pence officially named VP candidate, according to the NYT alert that just came through my phone.

Yesterday Trump says he's delaying the announcement due to the Nice attack. Then this morning he just decides to tweet it?

Edit: My bad, yesterday he just said he'd delay the news conference announcing the pick - he didn't say he would delay his tweet announcing it.

We can give the exams in the same buildings we held Japanese-Americans during World War II.

I can't believe Newt's plan to deport Sharia compliant Muslims didn't win him over.

    Sad.

Pence is a denier of many things: climate change, science in general and, yes, even the perils of smoking. Of course, Big Tobacco serviced him with a six-figure donation.
"Despite the hysteria from the political class and the media, smoking doesn't kill," he once said. "In fact, 2 of every three smokers does not die from a smoking-related illness and nine of 10 smokers do not contract lung cancer."
Aside from his difficulty in subject-verb agreement, his logic is fascinating. Is it not a problem if one of every three smokers dies from a smoking-related illness? Are we OK with the fact that one in every 10 smokers dies a horrible death from lung cancer? Are we OK with that?
Apparently the GOP is just fine with it.

"Newt was doing fine until he accused the media of distorting what he said*, he should have stuck to his guns. No, it's true. It's true. He should have stuck to it. Instead, Nervous Newt backed down. Sad!"

    * - By printing an exact transcript of the words that came out of his mouth.

That's because the words that come out of your mouth and whether they are true or not simply does not matter in Trump's world. It's all about what brings attention to Trump and winning the battle for exposure in the news cycle. Any coverage is good, even disapproving coverage. You just point at it and say "Look at the lies the media tells! Horrible!" and your voters lap it up.

For all the attention Trump gets on his social media game, his campaign has really dropped the ball on the VP announcement.

His official campaign website still doesn't have any mention of Pence and he didn't @ tag Pence in the tweet announcing him so the millions of Trump followers could easily find him. Probably hasn't bothered to send out a press release either.

No one knows what you are talking about. Name one possible (doesn't even have to be someone who ran, but was considering a run) GOP candidate you would have voted for. If you mention Huntsman, remember his "No Labels" shtick is meaningless, since he's already stated he'll vote for Trump because they are both Republican.
