Won't argue that point. But this campaign seems to have a LOT more fear, anger and hate than the ones you mentioned.

Those campaigns had a mix. Trump has nothing else.

 

But I don't wanna be a pirate.

 

Tactically speaking it was a terrible speech for Trump. No levity, a dunderheaded fixation on the recent police shootings (which set up policy promises that don't even make any sense), and a whole middle section focused on trade that will be eviscerated by every free trade wonk out there. One of his biggest talking points of the night was on Chinese currency manipulation!

Little to no talk about his family -- nuclear or birth.
Little to no talk about his life background.
Little to no pandering whatsoever to the usual folks who get pandering. The troops, for example.

This was a speech written by bootlickers catering to whatever pissy thing came to Trump's mind. Inconsistencies everywhere, bizarre, ancient grudges - ending NAFTA, the LBJ religious tax exemption nonsense -- a rank, consuming negativity.

We're about to find out just how pissed off America is, because Trump is aiming right of the center of our dark, angry, bitter, jaded hearts.

Some of it is up to Bernie Sanders. Can he swallow his pride and lambast Trump for all he's worth? Or will he take yet another 20 minutes in Philly to pat his own back and thumb his nose at Hillary?

 

I already saw Sanders take one huge swipe at a Trump on Twitter

 

The only thing that would have caught my interest tonight is if Hillary came walking out from backstage and gave Drumpf a sloppy kiss. Just to prove he is a Dem plant.
