General elections, yes. For primaries, they are supposed to be neutral. I doubt this is the first time that's been violated (by either party), but to do it in such an obvious, clumsy manner? Sheesh. The Sanders people have an absolutely legitimate gripe here.

And Hillary needs to use her de facto power as the head of the party to make the easy choice and dump DWS entirely. Sorry ma'am, thems the breaks. Call back in six months and maybe you can be ambassador to Micronesia or something.

Why are they supposed to be neutral?

Ability to control the apparatus of the party is a pretty good test run for being an effective president.

Well, maybe it's because the VOTERS should decide who the nominee will be?

You know, that whole thing about how we need to make sure that the voters are not disenfranchised like we heard so much about in Nov-Dec 2000, yada yada yada? (How soon we forget?)

Third time I've seen that link in this thread. Have we ever had a quadruple D-B? Who's game?

Guess that proves the old saying, if you repeat something often enough . . .

Only because he couldn't win a Democratic primary in NYC, and the Republicans were happy to give him their line as he was far better than the alternative.

One side is arguing its car is slightly better. The other side is arguing that its Sable is a Lamborghini.

How come he hasn't gone back to Democrat then? He's an Independent now, right?

Don't reach for words you don't understand.

Attempting to influence votes is not disenfranchisement.

The voters do decide who the nominee is. The party tries to influence the voters' choice. That is literally the reason the party exists.

To get reelected, he no longer needed the republican line, and didn't want to be associated with them.

But, he still didn't want to run in a Dem primary in NYC.

There's been a change over the last 30-40 years in the party's role. More states went to primaries instead of caucuses/conventions to choose nominees to make sure "the voice of the people" is heard and lessen the role of party bosses and machine politics.

Even if what you say is true, and appropriate, they lied about it to their voters.
