Less than the average of 5%.

Kerry and Romney lost a point. Bush '04 gained 2 points.

It wasn't a given -- especially with his "ceiling" -- that Trump would get a bounce. It's not a given that Hillary will get one. The trend has been all towards Trump.

So what is the correlation between getting the big bump and winning?

I haven't followed the leak story very closely this weekend.

Is it some great surprise that DWS wanted Clinton to win, or that the system was engineered that way?

    Wait. Where'd the goalposts go?

People really look at him as a guy who is going to revive the bleak dystopian landscape that we are apparently living in. Have human beings always been this pessimistic? It's starting to depress me.

    What goalposts?

You made some claims, half of which were disputed by your own citation because as always you read for shit, and I called you on it. No more or less.

On NPR this morning they interviewed the Democratic chairman from a county south of Pittsburgh.

He says lots of Democrats in his area say they will vote for Trump because he says he will bring the steel mills and coal mines back.

They look at the steel mills that have been closed for 30 years and know that isn't true -- acknowledge it isn't possible -- but still like to hear Trump say it.

They just want someone to care again. To at least acknowledge that their heyday was worthwhile. National Democrats in 2016 care about Lena Dunham and #BLM.

Clinton is at least telling unemployed coal miners they can be coders!

Three days of post-convention glow polling notwithstanding, I bet that's the winning play, even if it's a narrower win than I'd like.
