Not necessarily. But if involves warrantless wiretapping, it would violate the 4th amendment. If other government actions are based entirely on someone's religion, I think you could make a compelling case that the state is failing to meet equal protection obligations.

Remember the thing with Trump in general: no specifics. Ever. He doesn't have the time or the knowledge or the experience to craft them. So we are left to wonder how far he'd try to go without intervention. Based on his willingness to chastise the Khans and suggest a grieving mother is silent because her religion requires her silence, we have reason to worry.

The religious aspect is so tightly intertwined with the politics, though. Arguably the religion is incidental.

Nobody from either party gives too much of a shit about the Fourth Amendment anymore.

We've been raping and pillaging that "Constitutional right" for 15 years.

What are the odds Trump tries to get out of the debates?

Low, perhaps. But Josh Marshall lays out a decent case for how he's already laying the groundwork.

How And Why Trump Will Try to Ditch the Debates

UPDATE! Manafort in Meet the Press this morning, implying that they are uncertain about Trump's participation in the debates.

It's a nice theory, except that Trump will almost certainly be trailing Clinton.

The trailing candidate always wants to debate.

I think it's as likely that Hillary tries to duck the debates -- refusing to share the stage with a dangerous demagogue like Trump.

You should read the piece. It lays it out pretty fairly.

Heard someone else mention her skipping the debates. Not a chance in hell. She will mop the floor with him on any topic. And likely bait him into several major blunders/embarrassing comments.

What are the odds Clinton holds a press conference before the election?

There is a zero percent chance of that.
