Clinton +6 in this morning's CBS News poll. Good round of polling for her coming out of the DNC.

As I have said before, because each candidate is unpopular overall, polls likely will be volatile and inordinately subject to outside events. Really, first candidate to get to "meh" with the public wins in a walk. Trump's not off to a great start there.

I'm interested to see how the Clinton campaign plans to continue to attack him. I think that most of America probably realizes by now that he's, to put it lightly, politically incorrect. He impersonates a disabled reporter. He has said horrendous things about women. And so on and so forth. We all get it. The guy's offensive. But I think there is a significant percentage of Americans - north of 40 percent, obviously - who also are willing to cast all of that aside, because they view him as an extremely competent individual. At some point, Clinton has to transition to chipping away at that.

This attack is made often. Clinton and her surrogates don't let a day go by without discussing and denouncing Trump's real business record. But they're going up against an idea millions of people have formed from watching TV. And of course TV is always what's real.

No. They don't cast it aside, they embrace it because they, too, want to be assholes to everyone and get away with it. They're tired of cowtowing to whiny minorities and handicapped people, and life was much better when women knew their place and were seen and not heard.

Competence, or lack thereof, has nothing to do with it.

Guess we can look forward to President Trump's daily airing of grievances from the Oval Office. Can you imagine if Obama felt the need for a daily response whenever someone was mean to him? He'd never have time to do anything else.
