Oh. I thought you meant agencies that have ranks in the title.

It's the five armed services plus one you mentioned USPHS - Surgeon General is there.

There's one more. It's ok to look it up. You'll probably never guess it, it's kind of neat and like the USPHS, not that big.

I do remember eating some really good Ethiopian food somewhere in the capital so D.C. has that going too.

You can find just about any food you'd want in DC. One of the many great things about the area.

The downside of DC: Traffic, parking, cost.
The upside of DC: Everything else.

Visiting embassies can be fun too. There is a guide called Embassy Events that can help you find special events.

If you have a clearance though, you have to report each Embassy visit because it is considered foreign travel.

"What did you do this weekend?"

"I went to Belgium, Morroco, Khazikstan, and Malaysia. What did you do?"

    "Watched the Falcons-Saints."

And being surrounded largely by self-centered assholes.

But, yeah, everything else is pretty great.

Speaking of which, since so many of us are around here, why aren't there more mini-Gatherings?

There are plenty of fascinating and interesting people, too.

Not to belabor the point, but the assholes are also fully represented. And it's very noticeable when one first moves here.

I mean, that's fair, I guess. I doubt "assholes live there" would rank in the top 784 reasons why I would or wouldn't move somewhere, though.

Anyway, let us know which one you choose, TBF.

My office had an apartment in Georgetown that I stayed at for weeks at a time over a two-year period in the mid-'80s. It was a great place to spend time.
