As an alum, that's a two-week ban if I see that garbage. ;)

And yes, just like that. Three words. NO hyphen.

The answer to the seventh Uniformed Service is NOAA.

One of the neater trivia questions that I've heard.

Uniformed services of the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

They run the Hurricane Hunter aircraft, and other planes and ships.

NOAA and the US Public Health Service only have commissioned officers. No warrant ranks and no enlisted ranks.

So, tbf, there's a trivia question for you to win some bar bets with.

MH -- My daughter starts there in a couple of weeks. She knows the terminology. I might even have to sink to wearing hat with an orange F on it.

I'd vote for Chicago because it's where I'm from, but you probably can't go wrong with any of those choices.

Also have to say I'm envious. At this point, my three choices are (a) stay with current gig and probably be laid off within a year; (b) beg for jobs flipping burgers at McDonald's, bagging groceries, etc.; and (c) retire before I can afford to and have to eat cat food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I don't think you should move somewhere with lots of celebs. I was simply adding more to the few names he provided.

Long Beach is great for the beach, and for the scene in Belmont Shore, and Ocean Avenue, and the revamped scene near the Press Telegram in the downtown.

Queen Mary, Long Beach Grand Prix, aquarium, night life, music scene, one of the largest gay communities (if that's your orientation), hoops at Horny Corner ... always something to do.

Re: official name of the Titans ... I don't know, "Fullerton State" sounds better. Cal State Fullerton sounds like it's where the 90210 kids went.

    Titans play good baseball though.

The 90210 kids went to Torrance High 90501.

And another point. I grew up at the beach, yes, and we certainly knew about all of the beaches from Rincon to San Onofre. But I can't ever remember anybody saying they were going to the beach in Long Beach. Same with Torrance --- Hermosa, Manhattan, Redondo, but not Torrance.

I prefer Ventura County. That's where I spend a lot of time.

And it amazes me how many Californians don't realize the Channel Islands are out there and are a GREAT place to visit.

I spent most of my beach time in Huntington Beach.

I think we should all move to Vermont and hang with Songbird.

I haven't been to California in over 30 years. I was visiting a great aunt who lived in that retirement community that incorporated (Seal Beach). I don't know much about the area, but my impression from the visit, Snoop Dog, and other things was the Long Beach was a dump. Doesn't it have the port and oil refineries?
