You missed it. Trump already has used a nuclear strike ... on his own campaign.

 

Spartan, the economy's collapse was already well along when Lehman failed and the shit got really real in September 2008. Bear Stearns was already gone, the housing market had collapsed nearly everywhere, and layoffs were rising fast. The economy is very big and very carefully scrutinized/overscrutinized by the market. As of now, the signs remain the same. Things could be better, things could be worse. A sudden collapse seems very unlikely.

 

McCain never led outside his convention bounce. The economy and his reaction may have finished the job, but it didn't put him behind.

 

You're right. It is really unlikely the economy tanks. I typed that with 2008 in my head and just wanted to include the economy as an example of what could turn the election. I don't think the economy will tank, but Hillary losing at this point will require some weird act of God that we don't fully expect.

A man who literally in public said he'd make sure the check cleared before defending a NATO ally did not say "Why can't we use nuclear weapons?"

Does anyone believe that, over the course of months, that this source told this story to only Morning Joe? That's what we believe?

This guy who was flabbergasted by Trump's question(s), told his story to Morning Joe, and no one else?

And, what of all the great reporters working the Trump beat, and developing sources, over the last year? How did none of them get this story in the months since it happened?

Has any reporter confirmed it now that Joe's let the cat out of the bag?
