On a related note, I had Three Floyds' Alpha King this week while in Chicago, and it is fucking phenomenal.

Had a Shiner Ruby Red while grilling tonight. I'm sure that the Beer Advocate crowd probably hates it, but there is nothing better on a hot summer day.

I really like that one too. Refreshing. And surprising.

Terrapin Wake N Bake Coffee Oatmeal Stout. Very good, a notch below Founders Breakfast Stout, but very good.

I am NOT a breakfast stout person.

Not even KBS? I could drink that every day for breakfast.

Especially KBS. I've got a few Goose Islands in the basement, but I drink about one a year.

Love Bourbon Cty Stout, but think KBS is just as good if not better. May be because I just love coffee also, would drink 2 day old chock full of nuts or maxwell house. every beer with coffee I've had i like. stouts i think work best with coffee, but Kane Sunday Brunch is one of the best porters out there JMHO.

  10. I had a $12 Oatmeal Stout at a restaurant. And I enjoy dark beer, but that was a bit much for me.

Heading to the Virginia Craft Brewers Fest on Saturday at DB ... 85 breweries represented. Really a solid, fun event.

Saturday I tried a couple of Southgate Sawtooths. I thought they were pretty darn good.
I know many people are getting bored with IPAs, but I'm still mainly an IPA guy. It's just been my go-to since well before the current craft boom.
I like the fact that West Coast style IPAs are beginning to bring some malt backbone back into the picture.

Anyway, South Gate is really close by, just up the road at Yosemite, but this was the first I've heard of it.

    Right now, plain black coffee.
