She and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy were the wife's concerts. I've made her suffer through glam rock, so it's fair.

Next month I'm going to the Americana Fest in Nashville. 180 bands at bars and venues across town for a week. Looking through the list, there are maybe 7 must-see bands for me... and 5 of them are playing at different spots between 9 and 11 Thursday night. Shit.

Dierks Bentley few weeks ago at Musikest in Bethlehem PA. Not expecting much, but he was good. Also was surprised with the talent in the crowd.

Traffic wasn't awful getting in off of the Turnpike, but security was very slow. Took me about 15 minutes from the exit to park, although it's probably longer off of Route 3. I'd try to be on line for security by no later than 7:30 as he's started just after 8 both nights.

The way out was the typical disaster both nights.

Saw BBVD on a miserably cold night in February at the theatre 10 minutes from my place in the Toronto 'burbs. Smoking hot show.

Seen Elton John four times, including New Year's Eve at Barclays two years ago. Opened with Funeral for a Friend. Still got it. Seen AC/DC three times. Still the best rock show I've ever seen. No ballads, just balls to the wall rock for two and a half hours. Unmatched fan energy. Saw Jack White with Meg about six years ago. Not bad, not great. They seemed a bit off, but I'd definitely go see him again.

Wow, had never even heard of that. Lived in Nashville for a few years back in the 1990s, prior to this fest. Seems awesome.

  11. Saw John Williams do his Hollywood/Star Wars concert. It was magical! Although his most recent stuff isn't so good. Perhaps he's past his peak :(

I'll report back when it's over. Seems like a really cool thing. They've only been doing it a few years. Just wish they could spread out the bands I want to see!
