As part of their plan to make up for quality with quantity, the Giants activated Jake Peavy, giving them 19 pitchers.

Strasburg out in the third, grimacing and clenching his fist. F.P. and I are distraught.

4.5 out of first, 3.5 out of a playoff spot.

Fourteen mother fucking relief pitchers -- that is not an exaggeration -- and the Giants can't find a single goddamn one to keep the Rockies from scoring three runs in the ninth inning.

Marco Scutaro, Hunter Pence and Bumgarner never have to buy a beer in San Francisco. Casilla will soon to not be welcome in San Francisco without beer and an apology for all if he's not there already.

I think Bochy wants to keep handing him the ball in those situations to get his confidence back, but the days are winding down to a precious few.

15 homers, 52 stolen bases, .300 average ... not bad for $512K a year. Brewers have control for one more year before arbitration. He'll be 27.
