You obviously have no clue what their economy was like in 1998-99 under American puppet Yeltsin, whose idea of foreign policy was "Thank you, sir! May I have another?"

It really helps to have spoken to people who lived through that time. As it was described to me, "On Monday you had enough savings to buy a flat. On Wednesday that money wasn't enough to buy a loaf of bread."

And who was president during that decade of 5-percent-plus growth?

Far better than the hyperinflation and default days of his predecessor.

By the way, "growth below 2 percent for years to come" is the exact definition of the United States economy.*

*(And that's not even accounting for Doomsday, which Ragu assures us is just around the corner.)

My dude Yankee might not like this scenario, but ultimately he'd respect the leadership.

The name George Creel just sounds so evil. If you didn't know anything about him, it would still sound like a name that should be a villain in a novel or in a Disney film.

One man's crazed authoritarian is another's protective daddy figure, I guess.

Crazed authoritarian > American lap dog.

Yes, it sucks that those are the two choices, but I can't fault the Russian people for preferring the former.

And while I understand the USA grieves that its puppet no longer resides in the Kremlin, it has been 16 years now. Time to get past anger and denial and move on to bargaining and acceptance.

LOL. I thought Trump was the one worried about the debates.
