Well, guess we no longer can say that the E won't push an indy star to the moon without beating them down for years. A.J. Styles joins the lineage dating back to Buddy Rogers.

Punk leaves in January 2014 and we're staring at the Orton Batista thing......

Would you believe in about 30 months time the major WWE champions would be AJ Stylss, Kevin Steen and Shinsuke Nakamura?

We're kind of living the dream right now.

The smarks will still find some reason to complain and say the WWE never gives these guys a chance.

Whether it's WWE, ROH, or NJPW, Punk's value as a wrestler doesn't drop in my eyes just because he got beat in his first ever fight. Pro rasslers, even if they might have a little high school or college wrestling in their background, can't just jump across, especially shy of 40, and expect to not get beat up. I dunno. I don't see how smarks, marks, or whoever can say for years that Punk would get destroyed, then think it makes him looks like shit if he goes back to wrestling. It was a one-off, nothing more. Maybe I'm missing something.

Then again, I still don't think he's going back to any wrestling. He's probably even more beat up than he lets on. Guy should just get through the suit, do some kind of show, write his biography, hang up the tights. I wouldn't even want to see a One Last Match if it's a possibility that the story, the opponent, and the match itself could be underwhelming.

It's almost as if Vince and Co. finally gave up and started listening to their customers.

Putting a belt on someone ≠ Putting someone over.

Very happy to see AJ get a title run, though. He's been a favorite for a very long time.

Now watch them screw it up by putting the belt on Reigns ...

That Raw main event was a lot of fun. Also nice to see storyline continuity with Rusev destroying Reigns.

Anyone else like me and kinda mark out if a wrestler/manager/whatever responds to you on Twitter?

Dirty Dutch is awesome with social media.

I felt the same way when I got a favorite from Annet Mahendru (Nina from The Americans).

Spike Dudley emailed me once to thank me for a column I wrote about one of ECW's pay-per-views.
