Trump cheats at golf - the ONE and ONLY politics thread

Man, this whole campaign has been an exercise in "this team can't stand prosperity." Every time Clinton pulls ahead, she does things to make it close again. Every time Trump catches up, boom goes the dynamite.

 

He has no need nor any intention of "standing up to" someone with whom he has no ax to grind. Going into his term with no preconceived enemies is the ONE saving grace I see about a Trump presidency. And why a HRC presidency is almost certain to be another foreign policy debacle.

 

You're joking right? He takes offense when somebody looks at him cross-eyed. It won't take long before some other country pushes that button for him.

 

Absolutely possible. But I think he'll go into a meeting with another leader saying, "How can we solve this?" instead of "Here's what we're gonna do, and here's what you need to do." The condescending shit that has served as our foreign policy for decades.

 

I admire your optimism, but his primary foreign policy topic is he's going to make another country pay for a wall on US territory. Doesn't sound like deal making to me. He said he'd go to war with Iran if their sailors made rude gestures to ours on the open seas. He's about dominating people. When challenged, he's not going to think about negotiating.

 

And McCain sang, "Bomb-bomb-bomb, bomb-bomb Iran . . . "

It's all stupid talk that changes once one actually sitts in the Oval Office.

The nightmare scenario for all of us is he's leading by a point or two in polls on election day, his joke of a turnout operation in Florida (one office), Colorado (one office), etc., means his deplorables don't get out to the polls, the networks call PA and FL for her somewhat early (say she wins 46-44 with Johnson and Stein getting the other 10 percent), turnout is totally suppressed across the board in the West (especially California) and he ends up winning the popular vote of a race that was called by 9 pm.

We would absolutely have violence, and his stupid ass would encourage it, mostly because he was too cheap to conduct a real campaign that told people where they should actually go vote.

 

It is extremely unlikely Trump would win the popular vote and lose in the electoral college. Same goes for Clinton. There's a reason it's only happened twice in history. My guess, just a guess based on the candidates' mutual unpopularity, is that one or the other will see the votes break their way down the stretch and win by at least four points.
