If my arithmetic is correct, Nate Silver now sees an 0.5 chance of an electoral vote tie. Another dream scenario. According to historical precedent, this means the eventual loser will wind up killing someone in a duel in 2017.

Very little of what he says or does matters any more. He's running against the devil. As Charles Krathammer put it in an astute column this morning, Kellyanne Conway and the team he now has in place theorized that if they could get him over the "threshold of acceptability," he wins. And that's what's going on right now.

 

A couple days ago, @Michael_ Gee mocked me for saying that she had, "at best," a 2-point lead. He cited the RCP average as evidence.

This morning, the RCP average has her up 1.5 points.

She is fading fast.

This is Donald Trump's election to lose.

Sure, but it's hard to say they haven't hit on the winning formula. I think he severely under-appreciated how much people really don't like her and don't want her to be president. (Because, frankly, Trump himself does like her.) He thought this election was about him, and it's not.
