NYT's hands are far from clean on Iraq, too.

The media seems to be desperately trying to turn on Trump, and it's going to get pretty relentless, I'm guessing, in an attempt to make him unacceptable. They've embarrassingly let him get away with so much shot to this point for the entertainment value. A dark chapter in media history is forming.

The media has freaked out overt every alleged outrage that wasn't all that outrageous, but never challenged him on substance. I feel really bad for Jeb, Cruz, and Rubio.

Horse race journalism is tough when your paper's in a state with only one horse. The Oklahoma City paper's headline on its poll taken this week is "Trump's lead shrinks." In July the same poll had a 24 point lead for him. Now it's only 15.

Yep. It was all fun and games when he was damaging Jeb! and Marco. At that point, he was still expected to flame out, but it was a good thing if he weakened the eventual nominee, so the media indulged, enabled, and encouraged him.

Even when it was clear that he was going to be the nominee, the assumption was that the republicans had nominated the weakest possible candidate; one who would split the party, and wouldn't have a chance against Clinton, so it was still fun.

And, of course, now that he has a chance to win, the media is in full panic mode.

    What have we done!

And, as a result, they are overreacting.

It's going to be hard to convince the public that the guy you found to be so fun only a few months ago is actually Hitler.

Every time the media throws a punch at Trump and misses, it makes him stronger.

So please, criticize him some more for pointing out that a bomb exploding is a bomb exploding. That will surely be the end of him.

Morning Joe is still the best example of all of this.

Joe considered Trump a friend. A good guy. Doesn't have a racist bone in his body!

Plus, Joe hates Marco, so he enjoyed watching
    Trump take down Little Marco.

But, when he and his girlfriend started to get blowback from the media elite, who's acceptance they crave, they tried to distance themselves from him.

Does Gary Johnson follow the news at all?

The problem with the "Trump is racist!" narrative is that anyone other than reliably left-wing voters never bought it. Trump isn't racist. He simply offers up extreme solutions to what most Americsns realize are actual problems. Muslim immigrants do commit acts of terrorism. Some Mexican illegals do commit crimes and take jobs.

    What a load of horseshit.

The reason the "Trump is racist!" thing never caught on with his supporters is because that is exactly what they want. It's not a negative to them, no matter how much it offends people who arent pridefully ignorant.
