One was the Braves in the early 70s with Aaron, Darrell Evans and Davey Johnson.

Also going to guess Rockies with Castilla, Bichette and Galarraga (or Helton?).

Yeah, you guys are on the right track with the Braves and Rockies, although I have to doublecheck the exact players. Need to name the third team.

And it wasn't the Bronx Bombers which was my first guess.

I'm going to guess the 1947 Giants at the Polo Grounds.

No, and wasn't the outfield of the Polo Grounds huge?

OK, I'm wrong. Polo Grounds center field was huge, but the left and right field foul lines were like 260 feet each.
    '56 Reds?

Speaking of home runs, Kris Davis hit two today to reach 40 home runs for the first time in his career. That makes four players with 40 already. The others are Trumbo, Dozier and Encarnacion. Not so unusual. There were nine players with at least 40 home runs last season and enough guys are close that there is a chance to have at least that many in 2016.

But the overall home run numbers are up even more last year after rising in 2015. There were 4,909 home runs hit in MLB in 2015 and 4,186 in 2014. This season, MLB players already have 5,185 home runs. I kept thinking how surprised I was to see certain players hit 20 or 30 home runs this season, so I looked a little more closely. In 2015, there were 20 players with at least 30 home runs and 44 with at least 20. Those numbers are up to 28 and 95 respectively in 2016.

As of today, how many homers have been hit all time in MLB?

Yankees signed Butler so CC wouldn't feel like the only fat out of shape guy on the team.
