    Then you've clearly misunderstood me. .... my point has not been that this side or the other side or this actor or the other actor has been at fault for this decline.

    My point is it's a bullshit talking point in the way Tony - and partisan right-wing media - wields it.

    I know enough about the LPR to understand I don't know exactly what particular policy moves it in a particular way.

    Now do Obama.

    Oh, right. You can't. That would be racist.

    We can only compare George W. Bush and Trump to monkeys, chimps, and apes.

    I knew you weren't a huge Obama fan, politically, but I've been a little surprised at the personal animosity you've displayed toward him the last few weeks. For some reason, I thought you considered him a likable enough fellow. Mildly competent, even.

    You and those similarly aghast at "Money in politics!!!!" ought to do two things. One, you should actually read up on how that John Doe investigation was done. Two, you ought to take a gander at yearly lobbying and political expenditure totals. If you did the latter, I think you'd be surprised at: 1) just how much money is spent by, say, the National Association of Realtors and Blue Cross/Blue Shield; and b) just how ineffective (re: outcomes) all this cash actually is.

    Blue Cross owns my state lege. Might be ineffective where you are, but their dollars combined with the Republican hatred of anything Obama wants to do has all but delivered our insurance market wrapped in a bright blue bow

    * The IRS scandal.
    * The State Dept. email scandal.
    * The Justice Dept. refusing to hold Hillary to accountable -- or even ASK questions concerning intent.
    * "It's not a ransom."
    * Selling uranium to Russia for donations to the Clinton Foundation.
    * Giving Iran the bomb.
    * Scrubbing official transcripts.
    * Claims that Obamacare is actually working well.

    Yeah, it's a real wonder why I don't trust numbers the government puts out telling me how great things are.
