They got that mustard gas from us when St. Ronnie wanted Saddam to use it against Iran in the 80s.

It's worked for Trump so far. He's run a fact-free campaign and never been called on it. Why would he want that to change?

I can't help but think that the debate moderators are not going to just let him make shit up (except for Chris Wallace, who has already overtly stated that he won't fact check anything). At some point the moderator has to take a stand and say "Mr. Trump, you are entitled to your opinions and to present your programs, but trying to pass things that are provably untrue off as fact is simply not acceptable".

Of course, The Deplorables will scream that not letting Trump lie at will is a liberal media plot against their candidate rather than how things are normally done, but fuck 'em on that one.

They will point out that Hillary once possibly lied about something, too.

Actually, I am more a third-party Margarita supporter.

If Hillary lies and they catch it I *expect* them to call her on it as well. That's the normal process. I think most people here would in a heartbeat lay money on Trump having five or more pants on fire inaccuracies more than she does, and five is a very conservative number.

He has an opinion even if he has no idea what he is talking about. And he cheats at golf. None of these statements are opinions. This is factual. And this is who 40 percent of the public want as President? We'd be better off with Steve Harvey.

If she lies about something during the debate, will the moderator enthusiastically call her out on it as well?

Hopefully. That's the way it should be. That's the only way to serve the viewer as a journalist.

Exactly. Mustard gas has been around since the 19th century, and its most widespread use was 100 years ago during WWI. It is not the level of WMD that we falsely accused Saddam of stockpiling. And it's just achingly batshit stupid to even suggest that ISIS possessing some mustard gas in 2016 somehow means Saddam did have those WMDs back in 03.

But, then, we hardly needed more proof to know that Old Tony is a buffoon.
