Justin, do you root for the Caps too?

Yes, but the Pirates aren't a contender.

They did, which is part of why they ran away with the NL East. They saw a massive flaw in their team and fixed it, even though some posters here foolishly questioned the trade.

The Pirates, on the other hand, weakened their team at the deadline and they are fighting just to stay at .500.

They were when they traded him. Now they are not.

But it is fun that LTL was one of the posters who tried to downplay the importance of a contender trading away its closer, yet now he is whining about the Giants failing to add that same closer.

They've proven they are nowhere close to a contender. Smart move, he knew his team.

Don't worry, the Twins are hanging on 99 with 8 games to go. Gonna need a lot of help to avoid losing 103, which would break the club record from 1982.

And the best part is that ownership is telling all the new GM candidates they can't fire Molitor.

The were contenders. They were two games out when they made the move and one reason for the collapse is the weakened bullpen. Another is the terrible, cost-cutting offseason and refusal to add needed help at the deadline.

The Nats added help and it worked. The Pirates played it cheap and faltered.

Some of you baseball apologists are so desperate to avoid admitting that money still plays such a large role in the on-field game that you will argue just about any level of bullshit.

Everything I said about the Pirates in the offseason was proven right. Everything I said about them at the deadline was proven right. So are you lying to the board or yourself?

    Proven right? Lol.

    Wrong again.

JC, you are just poking one of the few people in existence who follow the Pirates (and admit to it). Plus, it's Steeler season now!

Oh, now I get what you are doing: burning off oop's energy on the MLB thread so that the NFL thread remains cleaner.
