I think her best moment was when he attacked her temperment and derided her for ads that attacked his--which largely uses his words--she perked up, did a little shimmy, said let's go and started with a serious answer about the origional question.

At the rare moments when Holt pressed Trump to answer the question, he insisted on sticking to his talking points. And bringing up Hannity was strictly playing the bro card.

Holt: You were involved in a federal discrimination lawsuit, claiming your buildings wouldn't rent to African Americans. What does that say about you?

Trump: I never admitted anything. Also, I built an amazing club in Florida that didn't discriminate. So there. Again, admitted no guilt. Thank you.

That was great. The club that doesn't discriminate. Big ups on that, Donald.

Even when she does well, Clinton is not going to blow people away as a public performer. Best she does is "this person knows what they're doing and talking about." I think she got that across tonight.

But as the old line goes, isn't coming to a settlement implying guilt?

Trump's surrogate on CNN, Kaghliegh(?) Is arguing that Trump's obvious lack of prep was a good thing....just like regular people and not like hillary who thought about her answers.

That'll work with his base. I would hope that would scare everyone else straight.

Perhaps even Republicans would prefer a President who treated the job like it mattered.

Trump himself is working the reporters in the spin room.
