I recall Taibbi (I presume you're referencing that Rolling Stone piece) detailing McCain's record as an incorrigible party boy and glaringly incompetent student/pilot (accusations his record reveals to be rather incontrovertible, btw).

But there's a big difference between accusing someone of mere incompetence and the things (traitor/crazy, etc.) YF claims "the left" was saying about him. Still waiting for evidence to backup that claim.

Would you buy Bill's used underwear? Would you buy anyone's used underwear?

The people calling him a traitor and crazy weren't on the right.

How would you like me to characterize them?

Is a semi-apology the same thing as a partial pregnancy?

How bout by NAME? I still don't know who you're talking about. Who, specifically, called him a traitor?

We've reached the point that, because of you hatred of all things Clinton, you will literally defend Trump on anything he says or does. It's ridiculous. (Sad!)

Trump had to jump today and he did. Told an audience he "brilliantly gamed" the tax laws. While this may not be a vote getter, the alternative, saying "yeah, I lost a billion, so what?" was unthinkable. That hits to one of his core strengths as a candidate. Americans worship wealth, so as long as they thought he was really rich, most voters said they thought he was better on the economy (still number one issue by far) than Clinton. In today's CNN poll, they're tied on the economy. If he starts losing that issue, it's a wrap.

I've criticized the actual comments a number of times now.

But, as usual, the criticism of the comments deserves its own criticism.

People aren't even getting the story right.

    A. It wasn't a veterans event.

    2. He was criticizing McCain because of his record on immigration

    C. He walked back the comments immediately afterwards, and called McCain a hero on multiple occasions.

The "brilliantly gamed" stuff is nonsense too.

He lost a billion dollars. The tax code allows him to carry over $50 million in losses per year until he's carried over the entire loss. So, for three years prior, and 15 years going forward, he did so.

That's just following the tax code. You don't have to "game" it to to so.

I did the same thing years ago, on a much smaller basis.

No. That may have been how he started, but that's not how he finished.
