This might be ... but how many times has it been said "he'll get more presidential?" 30something days until the election and we're still waiting.

You heard him. He's changed! He's grown up from a young, foolish 59-year-old. He'll be presidential all the way now.

It's not an apology when you pivot to attack somebody else.

I have a unified theory I'd like to test out for a minute: I think the Republican Party's primary strategic raison d'etre dating back over two decades now, starting with the Contract With America up to the present day is to prevent Hillary Clinton from becoming president. If the Democrats were running any other candidate, man or woman, I think they'd jump off the Trump Train en masse but they can't surrender (or be perceived to surrender) to an existential threat to the conservative movement. They probably wouldn't have even gotten on.

So they didn't smother the Trump thing until it was too late because they were waiting for the Hillary-Slayer to ride in on his white steed. And when they were stuck with Trump and his ilk, they were forced to do moral gymnastics never seen before to justify his selection and behavior because they've trained themselves and their base to treat Hillary as The Beast. And now they are well and truly surrounded. Peeked at one of the GOP bigwigs condemnations of Trump tonight and saw nearly equal measures of "but aren't you going to disendorse him?" and "so you're siding with Hillary?"

It's all over but the shoutin'.

His wife is. His wife coordinated campaigns to trash the women Bill assaulted. If you can't see her place in this, you're thicker than the walls of the bunker underneath the White House.

It's the result of 25 years of nonstop bitching by the right wing screech machine.
Millennials literally can never remember a time in their lives when Faux Fascist Noise wasn't bitching about Hillary Clinton. So they presume she must be guilty of something.

The truth is no "blindly defending." The left has gone from "it's only about sex" and "it's his private life" to hysteria. I'm just following the rules the left ade in 1997. If you don't like those rules, you shouldn't support the side that made them.
