Yet, that seems to be the game plan of the surrogates on the pre-debate shows. What he said was bad, but Bill Clinton said something bad too. And Benghazi, emails, ect. SSDD, in other words. That and I'm seeing the "we're all sinners, he can be forgiven" card played in a few corners.

That will save him 90% of his base. But he is permanently poison to everyone else. And 10% of his base is not nothing. You've got a Republican candidate that Mormon leadership has declared open war on. How's he gonna win Utah?

I remember when I bought the belt.

I've always thought Trump was a tool, and I debated putting a nickel of my money in his pocket. I pay attention to licensed products, force of habit.

The belt was on sale so I decided to buy it.

Made in China, by the way.

Edit: In case anyone wants to join us in the Trump merch club, here ya go:

Point is, at least he's saying he'll try. Thinking largely about the coal industry and Appalachia here, but Hillary has said she'd like to kill off a lot of those jobs.
Some hope is better than no hope.

There's no way I'm voting for Trump in a million years. Still, to say he doesn't have an economic message is like saying Bernie voters were motivated by their nostalgia for old Brooklyn.

She wouldn't "like to." Those jobs are going away. We don't have blacksmiths anymore either.

I wish that for him. I've never wished bad things on anyone in my life, but he has brought out the worst in me. I truly hope he is shunned and forced to walk in the wilderness, or at least confined to his golden tower, where even his family has to wear disguises in order to visit him.

My dad lost his factory job when he was in his 40s. He spent the rest of his life bitter and broken. Politicians like Trump exploit that. Lots of Dems, too.

So when Hillary speaks the truth she is "talking down" to the coal miners? I would say Trump is talking down to them since he clearly thinks they too stupid to know the truth. In Trump's defense, he is right on this one...they are stupid.
