It's funny watching the crowd chant for Goldberg. Half of them either weren't born or in diapers when Goldberg had his streak.

Is The Miz an eventual Hall of Famer?

They also did a nice job of editing out the crowd shitting all over his first match with Lesnar.

As much as I have come to hate the nostalgia pop, I would like to see them get Goldberg vs. Lesnar right. Hopefully they can.

I would think so, just because he's younger than you'd think - 36. He's got another 10 years of this, if he wants. He's also one of the WWE's favorite employees, from the perspective that he's always willing to go on shows to promote the product. If anything, I could see him taking the Triple H track into management when he retires, and obviously he could easily segue into the broadcast booth as well.

The problem, though, is how do they get it right?

Is Goldberg coming back just to lose? That wouldn't be too good, although, like with Sting, I can see it. So then you have him go over Lesnar, which is something that should be saved for, no pun intended, the next big thing.

When you think Hall of Fame, you think of the very best. Miz really wouldn't fall under that category.

But, the WWE Hall doesn't really restrict itself to the very best. There's a lot of very good in there, and Miz would fall in that category. If you were to put him back in time 30 years, and say that he was a former WWF heavyweight champion, a multi-time former IC title holder and a former tag team champion, even though those titles change more frequently nowadays, he would have been seen as a huge star.

The only real knock against him, is that he hasn't really had that blood feud or that one opponent that you'll remember about 30 years from now. Sammartino had Zbyszko. Hogan had Piper and Savage, Hart and HBK had each other, Austin had Vince. Miz isn't among the Brunos, Hogans or Harts, but he would have made a great Larry Z 30 years ago.

Hard to believe, but he's also a 14-time champion when you count up all of his Intercontinental, tag and U.S. championship reigns. He'll obviously add to that total in the years to come, and by the time it's all said and done might be in the top five all time (Edge is first with 31, followed by Cena with 22, Triple H with 21, and Jericho with 20). He went through a down period, but he's bounced back strong in the past year. I really hope he gets another WWE title reign at some point.

I don't know that Cena has ever had that, either, but he's obviously on the same level as the guys you mentioned. Cena's had several on and off rivalries with guys like Orton, Triple H and Edge, but damn if I can truly recall one feud that's in the Hogan-Savage or Austin-Vince class.

You're right, it is hard to,pick one or two opponents that you'll say 39 years from now, "Wow, Cena and Opponent X really had a great rivalry." Mostly because he's cycled through so many of them.

Sammartino and Hogan were like that too. They had many monsters needing conquering. It wasn't until the end of Bruno's career that he found his great feud. For Hogan, it was a reflection on how talented Piper and Savage were to stand out from the typical Hogan opponent.

For me, his best rival is easily Edge. The problem with that one is that Edge's injury cut things short. Those two would be one of the all-time classic duos if not for that.
