I haven't been called "years young" yet, so there's that.

I was giving an example of the incorrect use of irony a last week. The kids don't know Alanis, and they know George Carlin as the guy from Thomas the Tank Engine.

Yeah, but wasn't he about 35 when he was playing an 18-year-old? (I exaggerate a little, but he was much older than his character, if I remember right.)

He was 23 when the first Karate Kid came out. I'm pretty sure he was in his 30s by the time the last one came out, but Daniel-San had only aged a few months on screen.

Knowing that a guy I played against in high school is now retired -- well, released -- from the NFL.

When people visit my house and look at me like I'm a hoarder because I still have about 50 DVDs.

Oddly, they don't have the same reaction to the numerous bookcases filled with books around the house.

Speaking of the AARP ... don't know if this commercial is still running, but the one with the African-American guy playing chess in the park? I went to high school with that guy.

I was in high school at the same time (not at the same school, but in the same metro area) as Dale Ellis. He played, what, 15-20 years? And he's been retired probably just as long.
