If Republicans who are uncomfortable with Trump, hold their nose and vote for him anyway, it will tighten up.

But, Hillary is already getting a greater percentage of Dems than Trump is getting Republicans, so, potentially, he has more upside.

 

Except your boy is telling them the election is rigged, and he has zero ground game anyway...so there's little doubt GOP turnout will be an all-time low.

Telling people an election is rigged but still expecting them to vote is akin to telling hungry patrons that a restaurant serves e coli yet still expecting them to eat.

Dems discovering smart, principled republicans, whose opinion they value, has been one of my favorite parts of this campaign.

I look forward to Dems continuing to look to this group for ideas, and principled criticism.

 

I think that a lot of people believe that she made a mistake around Convention time by aggressively courting those potential Republican defectors instead of solidifying her own base and aiming her message to undecideds. Remember those few days? It was like a Ronald Reagan campaign.

In a twisted way, a Trump presidency should be exactly what conservatives and originalists want.
One of the major criticisms of Obama has been the way he's used executive orders and bypassed Congress to dramatically increase the power of the presidency. If Trump is elected, he's going to have an antagonistic relationship with Congress. The Democrats sure aren't going to let him do what he wants, and even if they generally follow along a fair number of Republicans will push back at some level. Four years of that dynamic might be enough to restore some of the checks and balances our system needs to function.
