look down on people who profess their like of cheap beer.

I'm joking. Kind of. It's almost an objective fact that cheap beer is shit. It's not really beer. It's full of corn and rice, which in the European/American tradition wasn't used widely in beer until large scale brewing started and brewers started cutting costs. Rice and corn are just a cheap way to get get fermenatable sugars and provide a sweetness that drinkers like. There's a reason the big guys promote drinking 'ice cold' beer. The colder the beer, the less flavor for the drinker.

Not everyone has to like stouts and huge double IPAs, but there are good pilsners and pale ales that are real beers and aren't overwhelming.

    Enjoy "Friends" more than "Seinfeld."

I think because of my age, I'm in this boat too. I was a little too young to really appreciate Seinfeld (I was 6 when it debuted). Started watching Friends a couple of seasons into its run so I was just hitting my teens and understood a little more. That and Rachel was hot and Joey's maturity was right on my level as a 13-year-old.

I can understand a child liking a show that is more popular rather than a show that is better.
A child lacks the capacity to judge the intrinsic value of one over another without being unduly influenced by factors such as popularity.

But a child grows up, and, as an adult, despite that fondness recollected from childhood, should be able to distinguish that Joyce's 'Portrait of the Artist' is superior to RL Stine's 'Goosebumps' series, as an example.

That post came out with all of the condescension and none of the humor.

While a student at Missouri, I ate a girl out in the parking lot outside T Bakers to the amusement of a few onlookers.
