Not sure if I understand Tito's tactics here. Even though you have a 3-0 lead in the series, you start Kluber on short rest so he can give you 5+ innings and then exit behind?

I don't think him leaving while trailing was part of the plan.

But they're really hurting. Even with Kluber starting today (and thus penciled in for Game 7), they still don't know who is going to start tomorrow. And Bauer's early exit blew up their bullpen yesterday.

Oh, now I think I get it. Was going for the kill shot. Then again, "If you come at the King..."

I think as big a part is making him available for Game 7.

As of now they are planning to start Ryan Merritt tomorrow. He has made one career start and four appearances totaling 11 innings. After that it's Tomlin in Game 6 and then there is nobody else besides Kluber to possibly pitch Game 7. That's life with your second, third and fourth starters hurt.

Never know what's going to happen with a pitcher the other team is not familiar with. Remember Bob Wolcott, six career starts and a 4.42 ERA, and he holds down the potent lineup of the Indians in Game 1 of the 1995 ALCS. The next season his ERA was 5.73, and it rose each of the two seasons after that.

He's got some good stuff. Wouldn't mind seeing him on the Dodgers.

I know a lot of people don't like Ernie Johnson doing these TBS games, but the way I see it, it's a reminder that it's almost "Who He Play For?" season and thus, he is redeemed.

I've told this story before on here (I think), but I was at a hotel bar just off of a west coast Navy base during that ill-fated Game 6. A lot of Sailors and maybe a few Marines were watching that game, and when all that shit went down and the cameras focused in on Bartman wearing that Cubs cap and headphones, one of the sailors pointed at the screen and yelled "Look, it's a fucking IT guy!"

JFC, you had to be there, but the place erupted and I will always remember Bartman as "IT Guy".

Feel sorry for him though. That inning became fucked well before that happened.

Fuck the Cubs. Fuck their fans. Fuck the goat.
