They still have to face those two pitchers again in a best of 3. I'm still keeping one foot pointed toward the ledge.

Cubs will win tonight, then come back home up 3-2, just like 13 years ago.

We could monetize Whitman live-posting Arrieta in Game 7. I'd pay a dollar for sure.

The pitching might end after five, but the tweets will go all night.

That pitcher that cut his finger with a drone - Bauer? What I don't understand is surgeons have very special stuff for sealing up surgical screw ups. It's like super glue or something. As long as it didn't affect the outer texture of his finger, I don't see why he couldn't have used some advanced bandaid super glue technology.

It would be considered a foreign substance and would be illegal.

    Even if it were subcutaneous?

Wouldn't the repeated force of releasing a baseball at velocity eventually cause the glue to fail?

If it goes to a game 7, I would seriously think about skipping Arrieta for a bullpen game. Montgomery, Wood, Zastrysny, and Chapman are left-handed and can each go multiple innings. Plus Lester could probably take an inning or two.

I'm thinking it should have been applied right at the time of the drone injury. The whole mess would have healed up a lot quicker by the time it came around for him to pitch again.

Give you example - friend of mine had back surgery a few months ago (mentioned this in the DocTalk thread). Surgeon accidentally nicked his spinal fluid column, a bunch of fluid started to leak out, but presto, they have some magic sealant to apply to that, and boom, leak plugged, not much fluid lost, and they were able to sew him the rest of the way up without a drain and also no infection.

Seems like something like that ought to work for cuts - and I know (maybe tbf can weigh in here) that trauma / corpsman folks have stuff similar to this. So what I am saying is apply it WAY before it becomes you day to pitch. Heals up, then no foreign substance on game day.
