He was out, but it was close enough that upon seeing it live, I initially thought the same thing. That would have been awful if the Cubs had to hold the celebration for a replay.

If that wasn't the out it was, that was a review for sure.

I'll add to what I previously said a couple thousand pages ago on the golf thread. Imagine it's 1992, and you're told that in 2016, you will be able to get access to any information and watch TV on your little portable phone, the two people running for president are the wife of the one candidate who is mostly known for her headbands and baking cookies gaffe and the other candidate is that rich guy from New York who dumped his wife and messed up the USFL. And then, in addition to that, you're told that the Cubs and Indians will play each other in the World Series.

It'd be like out of a sci-fi movie, or something.

So, you're saying they're accepting the result? [/crossthread]

    Free porn. Unthinkable in 1992.

I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. I've waited 30 years for this. I cannot remember a feeling like this.

Congratulations to the Cubs fans on this board. As a Phillies fan, I remember how amazing 1980 was, even just reaching the Series. Enjoy what comes next, however it comes out.

OK, so Cleveland hasn't won since 1948, the Cubs since 1908. A massive streak is going to end regardless of who wins. Dumb question: Does that fact take any of the luster off the World Series? Either way, one of the lovable losers is going to become a winner, as opposed one of them knocking off a team like the Giants or the Red Sox, who have won a few in the last 10 years. Does it take away from the storyline at all?

I remember how I felt in 2010. Still don't know how I got the paper out. Enjoy it!
