Better make it well off the field.

Anybody else notice the foul ball Ruiz hit that way in the ninth inning, almost to the same spot? Joe Buck even mentioned it.
Seemed like a very poetic moment for it to drift a little further into the seats and well away from the field. I bet every fan in that section was screaming to each other not to touch it.

    I screamed at the TV.

The Cavs winning takes the steam out of the Cleveland storyline.

I remember seeing a film clip of the plane nearly hitting the stadium one time. I think I saw it in one of those "When It Was a Game" films from the early 90s, although I could be wrong.

ADD: Some other good stuff here about the pilot

How a B-17 nearly clipped Cardinals in World Series

I have a feeling those are White Sox fans.

The only thing I don't get is why the lyrics say "the Cubs are gonna win today" when they already won?

Beat me to it. I'm sure the 50 of them that were on parole this weekend were unimpressed when they turned off their TVs for the night.

I don't know what bugs me more. That, or the franchise victory symbol being a white flag.

Much like the Sox and Buckner, I think if Bartman is involved it wouldn't be until they actually won a series.

Crack open a Budweiser and rest easy, Harry. They did it.

A guy I went to high school with posted on Facebook tonight his Cubs story. His family immigrated to the U.S. when he was a kid in the 1980s. He recalled how he became a Cubs fan because he'd watch games with his mom during the day and it helped them both learn to speak English.
I wasn't sure what was more amazing -- that the Cubs actually are in the World Series, or that anyone could learn English from listening to Haray Caray.
