One thing that will have to be addressed if the US goes single payer is medical research. At the risk of sounding Trumpian, there's been a bit of a free rider problem, in that other countries benefit from the breakthroughs that come from America in part because we pay higher prices than the rest of the world. With the profit incentive curtailed, we will have to find other ways to boost research and we will need our natural allies to start pitching in more.

CNN the last day or two has gone full Brown Bunny on Trump. I'm guessing the reason is to play up the horse race and pump up ratings. Any slightest polling shift in Trump's favor and CNN is on it like Old Tony.
