The Warriors need to trade Durant ASAP [/93Devil]

Didn't see the game, but the box score is interesting. The Spurs starting SG (Danny Green) was out with injury, and the guy who was supposed to replace Duncan (Gasol) did nothing and barely got over a quarter's worth of playing time, yet they still obliterated the "Superteam" on its home floor. Anyone see that coming?

If there is any one thing to react to from last night, it's probably that we should get away from this idea that they are in transition without Duncan. I know I believed it too. But the Spurs had already moved themselves away from him, to the point that they were replacing Just A Guy when he left and not a Hall of Famer.

As for the Warriors, they're still going to be susceptible to what happens when they hit 21 percent of threes. Durant should mean there will be fewer nights of that, but there will still be nights.

There is a long history of so-called super teams built through the acquisition of a new superstar undergoing a rough period of adjustment at the start of a season, going back to when Dr. J. came to the Sixers.

I had (nearly) a front row seat to the slaughter. The Spurs killed the Ws on the offensive glass and generally out-hustled them, which was a bit disheartening to see. The Ws got sloppy with the ball too in favorable situations, transition, key sequence end of 1st Q, Ws get lead down to 5 with about 10 secs left, Spurs hit a 3, W's throw it away, Spurs hit another 3 and end Q up 11. Stupid BBall.

You can see how the Ws are going to be good, they got good shots, wide open 3s for Klay and Steph and just shot miserably.

Spurs really put pressure on Zaza in the PNR. I've got confidence that Kerr will find the right adjustments.

Was looking for a celebration on Durant opening night, got a reminder that its a long season.

Proves, as us Laker fans will soon discover, that Luke was the key to the Dub's success.

The Laker game on ESPN tonight was entertaining. There was a lot of energy in the packed stands which had not been seen during the last episodes of the decline and fall of the Kobe empire.

Mike D'antoni, the Houston coach, eschews defense. Luke Walton, the Laker coach, preaches it, but the choir has yet to come around. Hence, it is was a sloppy. fast paced, high scoring game that was competitive to the end. The announcing team was effective and funny, but not intrusive. Celebrity sightings are always fun as well.

Joel Embiid had 20 points and 7 boards in 22 minutes in his debut. Had more than a few flashes, too. I'll take it.

That's a pretty good moment to have live on ESPN.
