The two starting quarterbacks on Sunday Night Football were born five months before and two months after my high school graduation, respectively.

The first major league game I remember going to had Henry Aaron, Eddie Matthews, Rico Carty and Joe Torre in the starting lineup.

I go back farther than that. I saw Strawberry hit one that broke a window in the house across the street from the baseball field at Venice High. He played for Crenshaw High, usually a basketball factory. In fact, one year Crenshaw had 25 guys in uniform for the JV basketball team. All of them thought they were going to be in the NBA.
