I'd love to see Seasons 1 & 2 but only Season 3 is available on Netflix in Canada at the moment (probably because Netflix produced only the 3rd season). Some great episodes but the last one is kick ass.

I like 'The Strain,' but what the heck with that S3 finale?
A nuclear device is detonated at Liberty Island, and people at the Battery are still alive following the shock wave?

Gave up on the Strain after S2. Too much TV on to watch mediocre.

I'm really not following a lot of TV anymore.
I've been watching 'The Strain,' plus I'm still a 'Survivor' fan and I'm onboard with 'Westworld' for the time being

Wife likes 'TWD' and watches 'Fear TWD,' so I watch them but really don't like them.

That's it for anything I'm following. All other TV viewing is hunt and peck.

What I like about 'The Strain' is that it doesn't take itself seriously, unlike 'TWD.'
Plus it is very story and plot driven, which I also like. I am sick of TV episode that seek only to 'explore character.' When I watch an episode of a TV show, I expect something to happen. I want there to be an internal, episodic plot and story arc, so that the episodes feels complete as well as moving the larger story.
I'm sick of glacial pacing in TV shows.

'The Strain' is not great. It's barely good, and it is often dumb.
But it moves along. There is continuous story momentum in a defined direction.
    It rarely meanders.

Fair point on The Strain. Your point on 'explore character' is precisely why I stopped watching Masters of Sex, which had its strong points but at times was just a total bore.

I've been watching Atlanta, You're the Worst and Better Things on FX. Now that Comcast put season 5 of Shameless on demand, I started catching up on it last night as well. To your point on The Strain, Shameless is what it is, moves along and doesn't take itself too seriously. Plus it's just fun.

Cleaned out my DVR last night by catching up on TWD, Designated Survivor, Better Things, and Atlanta.

Better Things and Atlanta are similar in that the comedy comes from the absurdity of everything around the main characters. Although in BT, Pamela Adlon's main character is not a loser like Earn (who can't earn) in ATL. And he's not really a loser, just a lazy ass who can't find a way to win cuz he thinks everyone else is a loser.

DS is basically 24 without action. TWD is what it is.

Kaitlin Olsen's (Sweet Dee from It's Always Sunny) new show on Fox looks hilarious.

Last night I finished a couple-of-months trip through "Breaking Bad" on Netflix. I never saw any episodes previously. My complaints about a slow start turned out to be ridiculous. Wow, what a show. I went into the last two episodes last night with no clue how it would end: Walt gets away with it? Walt dies but who/what killed him -- cancer, Walt Jr., Skylar, Marie, feds? Jessie survives it all (got that one right).
I was eager to get to the end, now I'm sorry I got to the end.

I didn't watch it until after it ended. Thought the same as you -- slow start -- but that didn't last long.

What a damn show. I might watch it again soon.

Looking through my viewing history, I watched every episode in just over a month. Started in November 2014 and finished it just before Christmas.

If you like the slow start of Breaking Bad, you'll love its prequel, Better Call Saul. Two seasons in, and Saul hasn't even been introduced yet.

I like Atlanta, and I've always really liked Donald Glover. Even as Childish Gambino.

But I don't know if I'm quite as enamored with its disjointed arc as most reviewers are. It's entertaining, but hard to follow too.
