My kid is pleading at the TV, "Take him out of there," damn near in tears. Everyone on my social media feed is hanging on every last tactic. My cell is blowing up after every sequence. God what a night. This fucking sport.

I didn't really watch any baseball this year, but I got up out of bed, and went back out the living room to watch the end of this game. We had a group text going between about 6 or 7 of my college buddies -- who I haven't talked to much lately -- and I just couldn't miss it.

    Baseball really is the best.

You'll love this @Dick Whitman. Have seen multiple tweets like this.

Yeah, let's make the Cubs first WS win in 108 years about this guy.

Well, they already made it about Bill Murray, so why not?

Maybe they get Hologram Harry Caray at the parade.

They can finally be a normal franchise now. Clear it all out. No more having every season be seen as a failure if it doesn't break the drought. No more "old drunk Cardinals announcer is the franchise's iconic face." No more Bartman replays in every nationally televised games. Maybe even change the franchise's victory symbol to something other than a white flag.

I'll admit this now, and maybe it's that fatalistic Cleveland fan side of me, but I had a real bad feeling when the Cleveland Symphony string section played the national anthem. Seemed a little too "Titanic."
