Home pitcher can throw the Golden Pitch in Top 9.

Edit: Actually, I'm wrong. You're right, Big Circus.

Twins-Braves game 7 and Yankees-Diamondbacks game 7 have to be in the discussion.

It was sloppy, though that kind of added to the fun.

Said it last night. Nike and Budweiser hit those 2 commercials right the hell out of the ballpark.
    Well done boys.

Per the Elias Sports Bureau, via AP, this was the first World Series in which no starting pitcher recorded an out in the seventh inning.
Closest any Series had ever come to that was in 2002, when Russ Ortiz got one out in the seventh inning of Game 6.

And this is still the best one in my lifetime.

That was the first one I thought of.

I was at Twins-Braves. It was a superb pitcher's duel, and it got to the point you never expected either team to score. It was a purist's experience, akin to watching a Kurosawa or Bergman film. Last night was more "Mad Max: Fury Road."

My brother was 12 and my parents made him go to bed around the seventh. He snuck out and watched the rest of the game under a coffee table. I don't know if my dad saw him there when he got home from work or not and I never will.

Incredible game, but to be "greatest ever," I think both teams need to have the lead at some point. That's why I'd go with Yankees-Pirates Game 7 in 1960.

    Pirates lead 4-0 after 2 and 4-1 after 4.
Yankees go on top 5-4 in the 6th (taking the lead on a 3-run Yogi Berra homer) and lead 7-4 heading to bottom 8.
Pirates score 5 times in bottom 8 to lead 9-7, taking the lead on a 3-run homer by Hal Smith.
Yankees tie it with two outs in Top 9.
Mazeroski walks it off in bottom 9.

Go to the 14-minute mark and watch how badly Smoltz makes Puckett look on 3 pitches.

    What's a golden pitch?
